Got this to keep my cast iron skillet from scorching the new table — works perfectly. The way the pleats lift the dish creates just enough airflow underneath; I tested it with a piping hot casserole and the surface stayed cool.

The pleats are surprisingly deep and catch all the heat, so my table is safe even with a screaming hot cast iron skillet. It looks beautiful sitting out on the counter, too, like a little art piece that actually works.

I was worried it would be too small for my large casserole dish, but the elevated base keeps the heat off the counter perfectly. The sunburst design catches the light nicely on my table.

The sunburst shape is a nice upgrade from the dull square trivets I've been using. I love that it keeps my hot casserole dish lifted off the counter, preventing any heat marks.

Finally, a trivet that doesn't just sit there looking boring. The sunburst shape actually lifts my casserole dish a full inch off the counter, and the airflow underneath keeps the surface from scorching.

The sunburst shape looks great on my table, and the raised base does a nice job keeping my casserole dish from scorching the wood. Only wish it came in a slightly bigger size for my larger baking dishes.
